Hurricane Cristobal was mental.

Blake Burns finding a little ledge to tuck under while Hurricane Cristobal gave us some fine tuned swell on Thursday morning.

More views from the swell. So amped on these Florida Drainers!

I don't post here enough... It's good to be back!

new smyrna beach and blake burns.

We had a few waves end of last week so a little trip to New Smyrna Beach was in order. This is our take. First two shots were taken by ma babe Tatum Gordon. :) Artsy girl.

It's beautiful up there.

hoping to get some more surf real soon. Too bad FL is almost always flat.

Some more water.

Another day shooting small wind chop in Southern Florida with Blake Burns.

This little wind chop almost bums me out.. waves pinch shut every time. :(

My babe, Tatum Gordon. :)

It was a pretty melo day after a very melo week.
I'm thankful even for the meager surf conditions.

More water housing in south FL.

Blake Burns and I shot for a few hours in the water today.. Still learning how to shoot with a waterhousing, just getting that feel for it is proving itself quite the challenge. But man, its so much fun.
Storm surf is super hectic to surf in much less shoot in. The waves are pounding so hard and so quick the hardest part is trying to hold yourself in a spot to shoot while rip tides yank you wherever they want you to go... so yah. Lot to learn about this. I think I'm onto a good start. :)

our buddy Walker Shipley. He just picked that board up today, after trying it out on a few waves I think he likes it.

lay out.

Sponsor shout outs.

Its more fun to shoot the shore break when your camera is in a bubble.
I love shooting in the water. So fun.
Trying to keep at it and learn a thing or two. :)

thanks for checkin in

The worst shots eeever. ow.

Today was.. epic.
I was introduced into some pretty epic south FL storm swell, and I had a water housing. :)
nothing but good times and horrible images that I had a lot of fun taking.

It was a Nikon d200 with a 50mm in a SPL waterhousing.. tricky setup for a day like today..
but it made for a good time swimming!

I was stoked to be able to swim around in pounding storm swell with insane blowing winds, and try to shoot photos of pretty poor surf waves. Makes for an awesome afternoon and I had a blast!

thanks for checkin in

-nathaniel.

Some nice FL Swell.

Lots of size, fat lips, but not to much shape.. thats how this swell is starting out.

Baron Knowlton.

Though its a closeout, Baron Knowlton finding a nice stand up barrel here.
Look at the lip on that next section... Baron goes at it with no fear.

Pete Mendia.

Blake Burns.

Stoked to see some waves in Florida.
I'll be shooting a lot more over the next few days..
Thanks for checking in!

Diving in the Blue.

I got to go swimming out in a man made reef today, just checkin to see what we could see and play with Chelsea's water housing. Epic times. :)

Chelsea let me play with the camera for a little while.
I'd love to learn everything there is to know about diving and shooting.

blake and chelsea. aw, cute.

this clear water is amazing.
mmmm love it!!
not to bad being here in FL. It's a huge change from california, but its not bad as long as these temps stay cool. Wish I could say it'd last forever.
