Wha Wha Wha Whale!!!

Wow. This will never get old. 

Some shots taken today while spear fishing. Garret and I had a few Humpbacks do a quick swim by and it was amazing, as always!

I had a photo sesh with some whales.

This lil guy gave us a scare!!! 

Us being myself and Garret Baker from Maui. 

Scare being that we thought the whale was off to our left when it decided it wanted to play with us! I know whales like playing around with boats.. and this young whale must have thought that we were big enough to play with, however, a two man kayak is barely big enough to play with a few ton whale! 

It came up and moved us a bit, sat there, then showed us some tail and took of splashing through the water. One of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed to this day! My heart was racing and I could barely move! Garret at one point even had to remind me to get some photos of it. Crazyness. 

We were able to spend a bit of time out there with this young whale and also a mother and very young calf came up to breathe, making this morning by far one of the coolest morning I have ever had.

So thankful for it all. I'm stoked we didn't get dumped by the whale! Stoked to shoot so many photos of this giant wildlife. Stoked to be alive.

I love the water!

... I also love everything in it! 

I dove 80ft today to take a plastic bag out of the ocean. Two cool things about that. 1) I could see 80ft down to see the bag! lets keep it that way! 2) There were a bunch of spotted eagle rays down there to hang out with! 

and of course, whales! Wow!!! I'll work on some more of these photos and get them up asap!

Another Whale Watch.

Check this out! Maui and the Big Island! I've never seen it this clear. I didn't even know you could see the big Island from Lahaina but I guess you can. Beautiful! 

Pretty cool shots of some of the whales. We came across a huge pod I think it was 8+, maybe even double that. They are everywhere here now! I look out into the bay and can see them breaching all around. It's neat watching mammals the size of school busses leap out of the water. Haven't gotten a shot of it yet, but I'm determined to before they leave. 

Rainbow Blow. Rainbows everywhere in hawaii.. even the whales are into it.

the Great Humpback Whale.

Good Morning Maui. :) 

Front row view of the new day and volcano, Mt. Haleakala. 

It was such a cool morning with my babe, Tatum. We took a trip out on the Ocean Intrigue this morning to watch some whales. I wasn't expecting such an active morning! We came across a few different groupings including one group with challenging males fighting for mating rights. The whales were close, huge, powerful and playful! It was tight. 

I've been seeing them a lot from the shore recently but its nothing like seeing them up close and personal. I'd put this on the bucket list if you haven't had the chance to see it yet, it is a must see.
