Still looks a little sleepy.

My beautiful Wife Tatum!!!

I've never used my lights for portraits before... ? Well, not with the pure intent of just shooting portraits..
I think its about time that I take that step in Photography, so I decided that this sunset would be a good start to that.

Barrels and honu's.. just another day on Maui.

Nice lil barrels to play in.

Honu's at the landing.

Sneak Peak out the tube.

ah what a day! Spent time walking the beaches asking people if I could shoot photos of them.. maybe a few interested. :) Hopefully!
How do I portray to possible customers that it could be really fun to shoot with me? My intentions are to send people back home with amazing shots/memories of a piece of their vacation to this amazing spot. How do I relay that? I'm not much of a sales person.. I need help. Man, I just wish I was better at breaking the ice. Come shoot in a waterfall with me!!!!

thanks for checkin in,

little rights at Big Lefts.

Joey Mattos!
checkin out the surf.

this one is funny.. kinda backwards I'd say.
I thought I was supposed to be shooting into the barrel that zach is surfing?

Aqua Glass.

Zach laid out the hugest spray right into my face.
It was the second time I got barreled today..

Some Honu's. Friends under the surface.
Don't hit them! They'll leave a ding or two...

Get pitted.

The Honu.

It never gets old. Love it when I see them in the water.
... they remind me to be still, just how they act. It definitely helps with my breathe holds and enjoying the water. I'd call it, graceful.

thanks honu,

From the Ocean.

I'm left in awe.

Hows that? Snorkel trips on Maui.. wide open ocean, and your work place is a boat. Some days we see nature just being natural, actually, everyday we see that. Today was another dolphin day. Yesterday we saw all three types of dolphins here in the Islands. We saw Spinners, Bottle Nose, and Spotted dolphins. Today we saw spinner and spotted. The photo above is a large pod of spotted dolphins either being playful with the boat or engaged in feeding. I think they were feeding because there were a lot of birds around... Who cares, the amazing part was looking up to see a school of a few hundred dolphins start launching into the air! Discovery channel has nothing on this. That is real life happening right in front of our eyes, epic.

and of course a Honu. :)

never get sick of these guys. Its as cool seeing them today as it was seeing my very first one.

thanks for checking in.

Through the cracks and crevasses, into the caves.

Today has been a long day.. early morning sunrise on top of Mt. Haleakala, ele 10,023ft, all the way back down to 30ft below sea level.
A day of Diversity and Beauty.

another day, another turtle.
I get just as excited to see them now as I did the first time.
Tatum and I watched a turtle crawl over rocks today when the swell went down.. in tatum's words, "so cute!"

These are my favorite places/spots to swim through, crevasses and canyons leading to area where less people go. Tricky maneuvering can lead to some really epic scenery.

Making my day complete was another dive into a cave where I found three 6ft+ white tip reef sharks.
I tried staying down there as long as I could but the swell in the water today made it really impossible to stay calm and still. Bumping into the reef at one point led to some cut up and bleeding fingers so I got out of there quick! I know they are white tips and generally harmless.. just didn't want one to get a little to curious about my hand. I called it to hopefully return on a calmer and sunnier day. :)  Still, pretty epic!

Thanks for checkin in!

More Turtles.

Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle aka Honu

I love the Ocean!! Can't help myself..

Tatum and I went out on another snorkel trip with the Pacific Whale Foundation on friday where we again went to Molokini Crater and then Turtle Arches. This trip we took one of the big boats, the Ocean Voyager. It's a pretty fun trip, however, I do prefer the smaller boats that are able to tie up in slightly cooler spots. But, again, they all go to pretty much the same places that all have the same amazing wild life to swim around with.

Come visit!!
