Tried to get into the action a little bit at this years Thalia St Surf Comp. So fun.

Adam Mejia, haven't put that name down on my blog for a while! I used to shoot surf with adz all the time. :)

Porter Hogan warming up for his heats, having a good time of course.

Little George Williams!! Rippin.

Shoots with Ports.

Feeewwww... Nice air bra.

It's been a loooong few weeks. Moved from Maui back to Orange County and am now located in Hunting Beach. :) After a serious infection in my foot I'm finally able to get back in the water and back to work. Relieved.

Stoked to be back at it.

Awe Mazing.

Porter Hogan at Ho'Okipa.

I love looking back at photos.. This image would never be used for anything, the wave is too small and I'm too far away from porter. But, its beautiful! Its what surfing looks like while your out there. Not everyone in the water has a front row seat of a surfer trying to get as close as possible and smash a wave in their face. So we see this, the landscape, the colors, the water, the foam, the wave and the surfer. It only last a second and it usually stokes us out and makes us want to paddle to the line up even faster so that we get our chance to ride the next set of waves. Then while porter is paddling back out he gets to watch someone surf a wave and sees just how amazing, awe inspiring it all is! Cycle that feeling, share the stoke, ride some waves and spread Aloha. Enjoy the Beauty that is Creation! We were fearfully and wonderfully made, as is this world. Thank you Jesus!

This image makes me feel proud to be a photographer and stokes me out to share it with you.

Aloha.

Oh Laguna and Porter..

I learned to love to shoot here. I got addicted to it actually!
Laguna Beach was an incredible spot to learn to shoot surf, and I'm so stoked that I had such a good friend and surfer to learn with!
Always a huge thanks to you Porter.

7 of 10? something like that...

Porter just keeps on going...

Big Rights and some nice punts.

and this isn't even half of it. :)

also..

Just a little hot tub sesh this evening to loosen up. Photos of tatum in the pool :)
Lighting and underwater are new to me, but I can see that I am very excited to explore it more.
I have only owned a underwater housing for about a month now.. I have so much to learn. I cannot wait! Each time I get in the water my mind is racing seeing what I can do next. I think the options are pretty much limitless.

thanks for checkin in,

Day 5 and 6: Hana

Hana, three hour drive from Kihei involved driving through the thick jungles of Maui, stopping at fruit stands, and overlooking monsterous waves. Hana welcomed us with open arms as we entered the 7 Sacred Pools. We set up camp in the most beautiful camp ground this world has to offer. Nate, Tatum, and me explored the waterfalls adjacent to the campsite, in hopes of finding unexplored areas and waves. We found just that; waves. The waves were incredible and the scenery was breathtaking. We hope to visit again soon.
