IT'S BEEN GOOD!
Well, this last week has had its fair share of ups and downs I'd say.
The Downs, my computers graphics card went out and I freaked. I thought for sure my hard drive kicked it and I thought I was going to loose a weeks worth of shooting with RP, Brandon Hammid and Nial Romanik.. Thankfully a graphic/video card is fairly inexpensive and very quick fix. Back at it and my hearts back in my chest again.
The Ups, Snow in the twin cities. Yesterday I got to shoot my second day in MN. 2 days in a season so far.. I'll take what I can get. It goes into the 'ups' cause it was a rad day shooting with the homies again. About time!!
'The Future' at a familiar spot.
If I could pick a line of board graphics to go into snowboardings hall of fame, Monuments collection this year would be my first pick. 'the Future' and 'I'm still alive' are my two all time favorite base graphics. Dave, you can put that on every deck you make from now on.
Monument is worth looking into. Artist driven, shredder ridden.
I haven't been spending much time in the twin cities this winter... It just wasn't looking like a good winter and California just looked sooo good. But, it it so sick being back and kicking it with good friends again. Krister, Cody, and Sam. Sickest crew ever.
Garret McKenzie
It's not everyday we pretend to shoot powder in MN. Two full inches of spray, why not?
Garret laying into a Wild Slash.
I had pictured that these would turn out totally different.. but I forgot that an inch or two of sun burned snow doesn't really explode. Its hard to put that stuff in the air. Krister did what he could and all for fun. yah, people still snowboard and shoot for fun, its one of those amazing things.
Well, I am stoked to be back online and blogging!
Missed a few days there... I'll make it up real soon.
stay tuned! Midwest mayhem coming up this weekend! Ashbury demo starts it off at 4pm, hyland hills this Sat. See ya there!

Colin Wilson
Colin Wilson is a ripping shredder! Yesterday at Troll I watched him do a handful of things I would have never come up with on my own and definitely would be hesitant to try. Tonight we were shooting some Monument photos in front of our monument, the state capital... nothing else to do, so why not?
It's still warm enough out on the last hours of december to chill in a hoodie for hours at a time outside... brutal. I'm about to pack bags and head for waves.... can't stand this brown town any longer. But, tomorrow is Cash for Kids!! Academy's comp at Hyland Hills. Jonas and Jordan Michilot will be there tossing a few dollars at awesome tricks landed. Come enjoy the last day of the year with us!!
thanks for checkin in.

Bald-E-Gal Cup, 2011.
the Youth Shelter Supply's
Bald-E-Gal Cup, 2011!!
at Powder Ridge, MN.
The Top Set.
Garrett McKenzie Sliding Sideways.
Krister Ralles Back One On.
Shane, Probably a 270. Looks like one.
Austin Young 5-0.
Benny Milan was spinning 180's on and off this rail all day.
Just one of the many up-coming rail slayers.
Mike Thienes making yet another epic edit for us all to watch.

Past and Future, all in one day.
Jake O-E came and made some faces for everyone.
Jake and Sam, Midwest's dream team of filmers minus riley.
Sam's shot of Kritter Smash! Coors BABY!!
Jonas Michilot taking it back to the black snow. Boardslide down the kinker!!
Danny after a long day of judging!
This is the, 'grrrrrr, that was impossible everyone was killing it!' face.
The Youth Shelter making sure the goodie bags were filled to the top!
Garrett and His mother, Mary. Gare bare placed first in 14 and under!
Good shredding lil grom! He'll be kicking all of our butts soon enough.
Champions!
Jesse Paul and Shane Ruprecht battled all day for that trophy. In the end, Jesse came out champ, but dang, shane killed it too!
Same with the 14 and under kids; Garrett, Benny, and Eddie all throw down so hard.. I would have hated to be a judge.
Pettit and the MN Crew!
What a group of guys. I made them all get together for this shot, they grudgingly excepted. One day my friends, we'll all be stoked we have these shots. :)
The set up was so sick this year! The favorite being a down bar with a tricky approach from the left side. There was an closeout elbow combination that kept everyone mixing up the bag of tricks. I think 120 kids signed up and rode, making for quite the turn out.
Thanks to all involved! Especially Powder Ridge and the park crew for all their hard work.
You guys kill it every year!

Photo Dump.

Myself driving a pretty mint Volkswagen Bus through town... It isn't to often that I get to drive these pristine vehicles, so i really enjoy every second that I get a chance to! This one belongs to my friend Clause, I'd drive it any day for him.
Zack's new decorations on the bottom of his deck. Taking after Monuments 'I'm Still Alive!'
I'm always texting that to my mom or yelling it around town, so it's about time it was put on a surf board also. Might also be seeing it on the bottom of mine soon... thanks Monument!
I'm Still Alive!

Brandon Phillips and I had a pretty rad surf sesh at state park last night. We were both super hungry and over burritos, so we cruised to Trader Joe's, picked up some proper grub and started cooking.

mmmm... yummy pollo! Brandon figuring it out.

These were so good! cooked on the grill with the pollo... dood.

This is kinda what it looked like when we were all done. Pretty epic combo of food!

Fat plate of health and goodness. This plate lasted me a whole 6min! There wasn't a whole lot of talking at the dinner table last night.. other than the ooh's and aww's about how good it tasted. Cooking is fun! Eating is better!
Thanks for having me over Brando.

Title to a new blog? Yup. Porter, Sean Herman, and I are starting up a new blog featuring our art, music, and collection of thoughts. This blog will span happenings from the East, Midwest, and all the way to the the West Coast. SurfSoundsCollection will be happening soon...

...and Brandon and I might put stickers up all over.. possibly. Get your Etnies products here.
Chill.
