Bald- e- gal Cup, 2010!

This past Tuesday there was a gathering of snowboarders from all around the midwest at super fun resort, Powder Ridge, MN.

The Youth Shelter Supply did and always does a fantastic job with the cup. As usual it was great to be out on the slopes with all the friends and what most of us consider family. Thanks to everyone who came out to take some turns! Hopefully see you soon.

Troll Vids. From Nick Green.

FLP Day.

We started out this Saturday proper at Wild Mountain. Grillin, Chillin, and pleanty of good shredding. Parking lot at Wild never felt so comfortable.

In the big park, Krister Ralles finds the sickest Gap to ever be built in the Midwest. From the Big Air jump to landing on the narrow corridor by the rope tow. This was some serious business! Here he Indy's the gap.

Austin Young with a backside layback over Matt Grady's head.

Krister was snaked about four times in a row trying to get a clean shot. Not looking to pleased, he did it a few more times finishing it off strong! Krister is a beast.

Melon Grab over the crater.

Last try. Krister goes big, Melon over the gap.

After all this fun we went and held a snow dice comp for the kids riding rails on the smaller park. Video to come... It was a pretty sweet turn out at Wild for the Sat. night FLP comp. Stoked to see all the kids out and riding and always good to see friends.

S.B.N. Short. Volume #1.

This is the first Issue of S.B.N. that I am releasing. It is the short to a project that I am still working on. I've called my project '5 years'. Snowboarding has been the number one influence in my life since I was 12 years old. I started shooting photos when I was 16 with my girlfriends dad's camera. Ever since that day I was hooked. This book is the product of my life so far in boardsports.

I'm not sure when I'll be able to come out with the full issue. Stay tuned for that day though. Memories and beginnings from many potential and pro snowboarders. Along with this last summers surf adventures its a thick read, but worth turning every page.

Ay & Jordan.

Sliding a new rail in MLPS. 100' of never been slid before metal.
Austin Young 5-0.

Jordan Michilot 50-50.

After a lazy morning this was the feature to be done. I think there's a lot more we can see from this slider. Austin hit a post at the bottom and that finished off the day for all of us.

12" - 14" Inches of snow expected this weekend starting tonight. That really opens up options for us! can't wait. See you then.

Duluth Shots.

Pretty much the rest of the shots from Duluth this past weekend.

Austin Young, Viktor Simco, Sam Fenton, Charlie Fenton, Ryan Paul. Great riders and a few fun hours in duluth.

Stories that have to do with these photos would be..

Ryan found a nice sized nail in the DFD wood rail while trying to cab 360 out of his front 180 on. He went chest first into the landing and that was enough of that for him. We later fixed his board and ate pizza at Damage Boardshop.

We had Police roll up on us for about an hour or so at Cascade rails. They decided that we were legit and let us know that closing time was 12am. We ran out of gas at 11pm, closed shop. Nicest Police I've ever worked with while snowboarding. Thanks to sam for taking care each time.

We stayed at Viktor's father's house. Austin and I fell asleep to wonderful chinese melody's that were playing at the home. I slept very well after hot chocolate and good table discussion with Ron Simco.

I met Charlie Fenton, Sam's younger brother. He kills it also. Watch out for him.

It was a good beginning to the season.

Kaitlin Marks.

Wild Sessions #2 from Nathaniel Harrington on Vimeo.

Kaitlin Marks. FL Project team rider at the age of ten, Kaitlin loves snowboarding and is one of the best progressing kiddo's I know. We filmed this short edit last Saturday night at Wild Mountain during the Sat. Night Sessions. It was a very fun time for me! Neat to see her get down and film!

Thanks to Kaitlin and her parents, for being huge supporters of the FL Project and for all the kindness they have shown me so far. I'm stoked to know the whole family and I can't wait to watch Kaitlin continue to progress in snowboarding.

Facebook Response I received last night...

'Hey Nate this is Kaitlin, thank you so much for filming me. And thanks for cheering me on and stuff. Also thanks for everything you have done for me. Well anyways my parents just called me in to come and watch the vidieo it is awsome! When i get back out there i am going to work on some new tricks. Talk to you soon'. -Kaitlin.

Why I continue to do what I do.

Gerrett Mckenzie.

Good Morning Nate!

I just wanted to send you an e-mail and say I really appreciate the support you show Garrett. I believe a lot of his continued love of the sport comes from you're belief in him. We have been recently talking about future plans and mentioned he would probably really enjoy photography! He likes the thought of finding young riders just like you did with him.

I love the photo you posted on his page!. If you have others, I would love to see them. You could e-mail them to me here at work.

Thanks! Have a great day!

-Mary McKenzie (Garrett Mckenzie's Mother)

An Email that I recieved this morning. First time I met Garret I thought to myself that he was one of the most talented kids I have ever met. I pushed him a little harder than I have most kids, just seeing what he could do. Within the first week of riding with him I knew he was special, I then brought his name up to Don at FLP. I said that he was going to be one of the top rippers in the area and that it would be a good idea to put him on the team. He rides for FLP to this day, and snowboards better than I can. From the age of 9 when I met him to his 13th birthday yesterday, I've seen only good out of him, I can't wait to see what else he can do.

I'm stoked that I've had anything to do with influencing a good kid. Makes me proud.
I hope that Garrett does the same for kids when he's my age, and passes that love on.

Duluth, MN. Bald-e-gal. December 3rd.

The title of this post says it all. Austin Young, Ryan Paul, Viktor Simco, Charlie Fenton, Filmer Sam Fenton and I were in Duluth, MN, for 30 hours this weekend. An explosion of tricks went down. A sick crew of guys to shoot with motivated each other to push limits. It was only December 3rd, and shots were to be had. An unfrozen lake kept the temps up, and our spirits were lifted getting early season hammers.

Rp and Sam Fenton celebrating after... well your just going to have to wait to see what put smiles on their faces.

Checking footy. More smiles. A sign of good times.

Viktor, Sam, Austin, RP.

Work begins. Fingers freeze. The sounds of fire cracking stair cases, cheering hoots, hugs and high fives; these are the things that make me proud to be apart of a Bald-e-gal filming crew. More to be posted when images are chosen. Till then, keep an edge in the snow.

Wild Mountain Sessions, Volume #1 from Nathaniel Harrington on Vimeo.

Here is my second edit! Wild Mountain Sessions, Volume #1.

I don't have the hang of this yet, in fact, I think I'm pretty bad at it. ha. It is fun though! Sorry about the beginning of the video.. the sound didn't export correctly. Makes sense I guess, I don't know what I'm doin!
